Motability
Our Travel Champions project is a collaboration among six partner organisations of the Good Life Collaborative, and is dedicated to making transportation more accessible for people with a learning disability. The project will create 18 paid Travel Champion roles, empowering participants to evaluate and advocate for improvements in public transport. These champions will undergo accredited training to develop essential skills, promoting greater independence and filling a crucial gap in available services.
The project also focuses on self-advocacy and creating long-term systemic change within the public transport sector. By gathering data from focus groups and direct feedback, the teams will continually refine their approach. A key event in the second year will bring together transport providers and stakeholders to explore and implement solutions for a more inclusive system.
