Our Organisations

Adapt (NE) is a registered charity, a company limited by guarantee and a social enterprise which is managed by a Trustee Board of volunteers with a wide range of areas of expertise. We are a community-based organisation providing services to people in North East England with the aim of promoting an inclusive society.

We exist to promote independence and choice. We support disabled people and carers through the provision of services, support and information, and by tackling issues affecting disabled people both locally and nationally.

Our team of Support Mentors and In-Work Supporters are committed to working with people to reach their potential! We employ lots of people who are neurodivergent or have a learning disability, which has helped us achieve some fantastic outcomes for the people we support.

Inclusion North raises awareness of the barriers to inclusion for people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families, and work to remove them.

Inclusion North include people with a learning disability, autistic people , families, carers, the organisations that support them and communities in our work.

As an independent advocacy charity we stand shoulder to shoulder with people across the North of England to champion fairness and equality.
A mother fighting to keep her son. A young person with learning difficulties training for work. A family who are experiencing issues accessing healthcare.
We challenge the term ‘vulnerable’ by supporting people to understand their rights and to be heard when they need it most.

Since 1983, we have been working to make sure disabled people and their families are well supported, to have good lives, to be in control of their own lives, and to be included in the communities of their choice.  We support people across North East England and promote good practice nationally.

Sunderland People First is a voice for people with a learning disability and autistic people so they can live their lives the way they want. We are a community interest company in the North East.  We work alongside people with a learning disability and autistic people to improve lives, promote inclusion and champion equality.

Your Voice Counts is a charity that supports people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people who are at risk of exclusion due to disability, illness or other challenges. We help people to be connected, to have choice and control in their lives, and to speak up for what they want and need.
